What others have said
“Beryl Hart sings with such great understanding and sensibility—each song a gem—and a musical conversation that shows depth and innate knowledge of the jazz idiom. No wonder musicians love to play with her!”
“How thrilling to know that the swinging, playful singing of Beryl Hart is being captured here with such a wonderful group of players. Her beautiful phrasing, diction and choice of notes is always a delight. But more than this, Beryl possesses a rare intelligence, based on her love of the great horn players. And it is this, along with an inherent and sparkling sense of mischief and spirit of adventure, that makes her singing so authentic, meaningful, and, well… hugely listenable.”
I’m the very definition of a late starter! Although my earliest memories are music-related, it was many years before I really began singing, and sometimes playing, jazz.
It’s been a revelation to discover how wonderful live performance can be…
